
Andrei Cucu is a Romanian artist, musician, poet, and sound director. He composes, improvises, plays, programs—always looking for new stories to tell. He writes poems and makes poems through music, sound, text, and video.
Andrei has studied literature and comparative studies in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, and sound design in Berlin. His artistic practice has manifested in exhibitions in Berlin, London, and Cluj-Napoca; performances in Germany, Poland, Romania; independent releases as well as radiophonic pieces broadcast on Deutschlandfunk Kultur, EOS Radio, and colaboradio.
He has collaborated as composer, performer, sound director, sound designer, live electronics designer, programmer, or sound engineer with artists such as Samir Odeh-Tamimi, Tony Elieh, Alexis Baskind, Janine Eisenächer, Carola Bauckholt, Malte Giesen, Liza Lim, Zafraan Ensemble, and others.
Between 2020 and 2025, he was part of the Studio for Electroacoustic Music at the Akademie der Künste Berlin, and he has been a member of Errant Sound since 2019.
