In our first collaboration, Janine Eisenächer and I let our respective worlds of objects and sounds meet. The various things and media – physical objects and materials of everyday life, field recordings and electro-acoustic sound objects, microphones, loopers, selected text fragments, and passages from Gertrude Stein’s “Tender Buttons” – create a soundscape in which the individual elements enter into manifold relationships with each other. We are part of this landscape, moving through it and with it. At different times, our performative impulses and interventions will move the objects and sounds in other directions.
In/ still life explores how the interaction between visible and invisible sound production creates auditory landscapes and how these move and change. Similar to the classical representation of objects in still life, they form new spaces that emerge and continue to act in the performative process. Between acoustic still life and tableau vivant.
The durational performances took place at Errant Sound on the 4th and 5th of February 2022.
